Program description

The Summer Camp in Cyber Security aims to provide active and hands-on learning based on the best practices from ITMO trainers and professors. Camp participants will be involved in the study process, using various techniques to raise involvement and engagement such as teamwork, problem learning, flipped learning, etc. 

Who can apply?

  • IT specialists, people with an interest in the sphere and respective background
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD students with C++ programming language skills, experience in assembly x86 and C languages 
  • Students proficient in English language (B1 and higher)

  • Tuesday – Malware Classification and Naming; Analysis of Simple File Virus. Algorithms of EXE Infection
  • Wednesday – Techniques of Protection Against Detection. Malware Behavior; Analysis of Simple File Virus. Reaching the Payload
  • Thursday – Review of Malware Detection Algorithms; Techniques of Manual Unpacking of Binaries, Dumping and Healing the PE Files
  • Friday – Malware Detection Algorithms; Machine Learning. Unpacking the Simple Trojans I
  • Monday – Structure of Botnets. P2P Botnets; Unpacking the Simple Trojans II
  • Tuesday – Zeus Botnet and Its Protocol; Reaching the Payload of Trojans
  • Wednesday – Antivirus Quality Estimation. Comparing Antivirus Products; Structure of Payload of Trojans
  • Thursday – Sandbox Analysis of Malware; Working with Viruses in Sandbox: Restrictions and Limitations
  • Friday – Review and Discussion

The program includes one lecture and one practice class held every day from 11:00 to 15:00 (Moscow time, GMT +3)
