Optical biosensing is a new fast-growing interdisciplinary field at the intersection of nanophotonics, biochemistry, microfluidics, and medicine. Modern-day advances in nanophotonics made it possible to detect even single virus particles, sort molecules of different chirality, and read DNA chains.
Within five days, the world's best experts will deliver lectures in optical biosensing. The course will cover a wide range of topics, from the fundamentals to the latest achievements. The school is designed for students interested in broadening their knowledge and getting the skills necessary for conducting their own scientific research in the new field. All school participants will have to take a final test summarizing the content of the school. Those who will successfully pass the test (>85%) will be awarded 3 ECTS.
The event is organized by ITMO's School of Physics and Engineering.
